Police Speeding Device!
#1
Taking a scoob for a spin this afternoon and came across a traffic cop checking speeds in a 30 zone with a strange looking video device.
As i approached my radar detector on the dash didn't bleep its normal warning which was a little worrying!
Thought it would be a good idea to investigate further. Pulled up around the corner and began to chat to the traffic cop to see what info I could extract. Surprisingly friendly chap.
Discovered it was a mobile lasar and camera which had a 1000' reach. As you approached, if you were speeding a photograph would be taken and printed off in the back of the traffic van. He was also checking traffic travelling away from him and photographing their rear. You would then be sent a fine and 3 points in the post. Nice!
Also discovered that you would be fined if travelling at 10% or more above the speed limit.
I was chatiing for about 10 minutes and in that time 7 people were photographed.
Is this new or am I a little behind the times?

this is one of the reasons i say the above, imo there fully legal now, becuase they simply dont bother the police, due to them knowing that they dont work!
