So not to hijack the other thread

I have heard that when driving really fast the air over the scoop misses and doesn't cool the intercooler ( i assume it rolls over the bonnet tip), resulting in a bill to fix your now cream crackered engine

I drove my Type R to the limiter in 5th on 6 consequtive laps with no problems (2 mile straght)

Is there any truth in the rumour?

Apparently so, I believe after 130 mph the air bounces off the front of the bonnet and completley misses the scoop. Hence the new shape have got a revised bonnet and larger scoop to catch more airflow..............

Had my O2wrxppp flat out a few times and still ok. Would only do it whilst under warranty though.
Absolutely fried the brakes, though...

So people that have fitted Sti7 scoops to their Sti8's have effectively voided their warranties
