Name That Car!
#1
Hi,
I'm new to all this Subaru malarky, and have recently bought a Subaru Legacy RS Twin Turbo saloon (import). It's a great car (and I'm saying that in comparison to my modified Evo, so I mean it!), but I have one slight problem......I need to know what, exactly, it is! The log book is useless - just says twin-axle rigid body saloon. My insurance company, Liverpool Victoria, only list two imports - the estate and an RSK-B4. Is that what mine is?
I'll attach a couple of pics (if I can work out how - the link to the BBS code syntax won't work for me) and am really grateful for any help. Basically, I have it insured as an RSK-B4 and need to know if that's right.
Many thanks,
Elton

Elton,
You, probably, have an early Legacy RS for which they remodelled the body and put the twin sequential turbo's on the EJ20 engine. The model number on the plate should start BD and the letter A appears soon after. About '96 they produced the revision B and in '97 the revision C, which was the last of this line of rally special's (RS). 98/99 saw the introduction of the B4 RSK's, a new body, much the same engine and less focused suspension. As mentioned before, visit the B4 site. Plenty of twin turbo owners and lots of advice. In your pictures I noticed you had a large back box. Check that the system hasn't been de-catted as the primary turbo doesn't like this.
