How long for speeding tickets to arrive?

The NIP must be posted within 14 days of the alleged offence, there is no time on the receipt of the said document.
Sadly you will not get proof of postage without going to court.
I have a court appearance next Monday, my birthday, for failing to provide details of the driver following an alleged offence, purely because I do not know who was using my car, a company car, and I own the company.
Having trusted a number of people, employees, sub contractors and friends / family, over a period of 4 years, to use company vehicles without having to ask permission every time, seems to have back fired on me, someone, who cannot be identified from the photo has dropped me in the SH*T.
All cvompany vehicles are now allocated, and if anyone wants to drive one, not allocated to him / her, they now have to inform the office before doing so.

This 14 days assumes that you havent already receieved a verbal NIP from the policeman and also if it takes time to trace you through a compnay/hire/lease vehicle. Are we talking gatso or stopped by a cop car ?

I'm asking on behalf of a mate who thinks he was done twice in two days. The second offence has already arrived and he's wondering if this means he's got away with the first one.

All,
What happens if you get flashed by a static camera ? Assuming it works and they intend to prosecute is it always a NIP, or can it be a fixed penalty notice (FPN) ? you know the old 3 points and £60
A FPN can take up to 6 months I think.
Only interested as i got flashed by a forward facing job just outside Portsmouth 3 weeks ago. Can i rest as ease now as I haven't heard anything, or could it take 6 months.
Thanks to anyone who can clarify
Neil

A NIP has to be served within 14 days even if its a FPN or a court case. They need to serve the NIP to assertain who was driving the vehicle. After they have done that it can take months for the fine or case to come up. I am not a cop or a regular convicted speeder just what I have read and heard.

I got one sent through a few years ago for my company car. The date of the offence was 27/9 but I didn't receive the NIP until the 20/12 (it was post dated 15/12).
Thankfully I was not driving at the time, as I hadn’t even started work for the company so I forwarded it on. Obviously if it had of been for me than I would have queried it but could I expect to have it rescinded? Just for future reference you understand

I am still waiting for a hearing date for the speeding offence which I also have to defend!
