Deerhunter, as l understand it from my Subaru dealer, the problem is a shortage of ECU's for the remap. Prodrive have a limited number in their exchange programme and it's the delay receiving them fixing them and getting them back out that's causing the hold ups.

'Course that may be off the mark, but it's the story as being told by IM to my dealer.

Maybe a Prodrive person can say for sure, Halloooo!! anybody out there??

I remember hearing that if you leave the car with your dealer for a few days they can take out your ECU, send it to Prodrive for remapping, and refit it. I would ask if they can do that and provide you with a courtesy car.

The components for the PPP are all stocked at Subaru and the ECUs are reprogrammed there as well. As far as I am aware, there is currently no delay in the parts being sent by Subaru, although you may have a wait at the dealers end as they may well be booked up in the workshop.

Get your dealer to chase the parts if they haven't arrived within about a week.

Question

I was told 2-3 weeks when I enquired yesterday and the workshop isn't that busy at the moment. Not in any rush though so happy with this.

While your on Mike, the spring kit (Available in 8 German weeks). Will it be OK with 18" wheels fitted with 225/40/18's ?? or will they rub. I ask this as these tyres are what came with the Prodrive wheels I had (P-FF7's) and were also on my previous UK300.

Don't want them to rub the arches ?

Thanks

Steve

No problem with tyre clearance on our wheels with the springs fitted. We always check tyre clearance without the spring fitted when engineering cars with larger wheels and tyres so that there will be no clearance issues under any conditions.

If you want to keep your warranty, you will have to have the PPP fitted in Holland.

Thanks, Nick.

Nick

The warranty is now pan European so why would the car have to return to Holland?

As not to invalidate the warranty, same as can not get ppp fitted in holland on uk car, even if it is cheaper over there.

I had the PPP fitted to my STi7 3 weeks ago. It took 6 days between me ordering it and being phoned to say the parts had arrived.

I'd hassle your dealer a bit if I were you.

The warranty is pan-European, but it is provided/funded by the importer who sold the vehicle/PPP.

Thanks, Nick.
