Question

Why don't Subaru fit the rear wash/wipe to the UK models (P1 and 22b excluded) ?

Or can you have it fitted ? I suspect this would mean a new rear window ? and on an Sti8 would be expensive due to the radio arial being combined as well

Any ideas. Cost saving measure maybe ?

I've never figured this one out either. It's not like it doesn't rain in England!

Sallons generally don't need rear wipers as the airflow keeps the rear window clear. My WRX has a rear wiper and I only ever use it just before I back off my drive if it's been raining other than that it's just added weight and something else to go wrong.

Rain-X on the rear sorts it out nicely

Question

Does RainEx have any effect on condensation, Brun? That's my major prob during cold months, and it's sometimes so thick that the HRW takes an age to clear it. I can't be doing with wiping it either....I never seem to have a cloth handy:

You talking inside or out?
If it's out, then Rain-X solves all wet stuff on the rear as soon as you get above 30-40mph.

Hmmm thanks but still doesn't really answer the question ?

There must be a better reason as to why we don't get them ?

this his bothered me as well if fact so much i asked rac autoglass the price of a rear window with a hole for the wash wipe , the bloke told me it was very expensive , and suggested an accident with a brick/other heavy /sharp object.£50 for glass replacment just say you removed the wash wipe .
as for the wash wipe try one of the auto sport papers i found a place in s wales that could get me one . for about £150 i think can't remember ,can't have been much cause i am still thinking about doing it.

Exclamation

I've got a saloon 95WRX and the wiper is really useful. I find that water gets blown off the roof down the back window so I can't see out of it so have to wipe it to see what's following me!

Does Japan get more rain than England or something!?!?
