have just bought some castrol R oil on a recommendation from a friend. Is this oil suitable for my93 impreza turbo? What grade of oil is it and any other info would help. THANKS

castrol RS 10/60 is the castrol oil you want..

Thanks Dan. On the front of the container all it says is. Castrol racing motor oil R40 castol R is a castor based lubricant and should not be mixed with other grades of oil.Q what is R40 Q what is castor oil...

It's a hard oil to get hold of, not many places stock 10/60, they stock the racing type, i think it's 0/40.

25 years on and still remember the smell of Castrol 'R'

does it still give off the same smell !!!

smells pretty good to me. But i still dont know if its suitable for my impreza

LOL @ T5NYW oh the day of having the MX Bike running in the garage them days


I would not use Castrol R in any vehicle that has had a Mineral based oil in it as it turns to Sludge and into an acid type mixture if you mix a castor based oil with it or traces IIRC
