How many of you are brave enough to leave your car running (turbo timer count down) whilst you walk away and leave it?
Obviously locked & alarmed
I know I'm not.
Every morning at work I sit in the car whilst it counts down from 1 minute, seems like forever when your late for work, but I could just lock up and forget about it. The only time I walk away is when it is in my garage and I can hear it switch off.
And yes I do know that turbo timers are not insurance company approved

Disco,
That sounds like the same model as mine.
Despite the keys out, doors locked, alarm on etc I still can't bring myself to walk away from the car with the engine running knowing that I wont see it again for at least another 8hrs.
What do you guys do at Motorway service stations when you pull in for a re-fuel after a long time on boost? sit there at the pump for 2mins on tickover?

I leave mine running down in the works car park - I can't arm my alarm with the engine running, turbo timer or not.
(helps working where I do though )

I have my minimum set to 20secs, if I know I'm about to stop for petrol, I'll back off and let the timer reduce down to virtually that. By the time I've got me fat ar$e out of the car its just about to stop, ready to open the fuel cap.

I've not done it myself but I have seen many fill up with the engine running on past 'ring trips. What's the difference if you are filling up and the car adjacent to you is still running and stationary?

Thinking about it it must be more dangerous stoping the engine and then restarting, the risk of a spark from starting is greater than a running engine IMHO.
I guess it isnt a standard thing as virtually all cars the keys would have to be in the ignition, so thefts from forecourts would be a problem. I can imagine the spotty gimp on the cash desk would be non to happy about the engine running though.

as no doubt the zorst is not inconspicous making the kiosk window rattle :-).

Dont use the turbo timer all the timer as i can choose to use it or not. When i do, i switch it on, jump out the car, lock it up and it either switches off by then or i have a button on my alarm to switch it off from outside the car.
