Can someone tell me the date that Scoobynet first appeared on the net? And are any of the original members still around?

Scoobynet v1.0 was I think the original incarnation of the SIDC bbs, then it turned into Scoobynet as we know it, and was run by Phil Dawes. I signed up in March 99 and have been here ever since. Things changed in, umm, 2000? When Simon took over from Phil, and things have gone from strength to strength, well, some parts have the muppet forum has just gone totally downhill in the past year, however, the rest is as great as it ever was.

I was around at the begining too - I made the mistake of changing my profile & putting in the wrong email address - it resets your password & sends it to the new address. You can never get back in to correct it - doh ! If anyone knows how to get round that one the please let me know (userid : alistair).

I remember the days when the community was so small that we used to do it all by eMail - couldn't imagine that now !

Phil Dawes my lodger set up Scoobynet as a stand alone free online resource, whilst he was IT bod for SIDC.

Dick Grimes of SIDC fame vetoed the "SIDC BBS" idea and so Phil continued it under his own steam.

Scoobynet was beseiged by its first round of "muppets" and so I set up 22B.com BBS which was really very dry and technical

First round of negative customer feedback for a discreditted "chipper" who had turned his hand to Imprezas lead to the threat of legal action as "discreditted chipper" was suddenly subject to multiple internet empowered victims saying "yeah they blew my engine too" [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

Phil decide to give his BBS to me as I would tell the truth, I stated this at SIDC AGM........then sold to Simon de Bank.

Just check out the date that I registered, as that was the very first day it was up and running. I was the 2nd person to join up, and in fact the very first person has just made another post (See Granite City photos thread in Scotland forum). Only 5 posts in 4 1/2 years
