STi7 Wagon Import vs Tweaked WRX Wagon?
#1
OK Here's one for U!
I have £25k to send on a used Wagon as a 35K mile/year company car!!!! I would like to know what you guys think is the best option!
Do I get a Jap STi Wagon, take it to TSL for 18" alloys, dropped suspension and geometry tweaks. (Maybe even an ECU, exhaust, ICE & tints if the dosh is there!)
Or a UK WRX wagon and do some of the above?
I'm aiming for 300 BHP, the STi is pretty much there. It has a better interior but could have a dodgy past! I may well have parts/service problems? Insurance is probably steep!
The UK car? A lot less for you money but a better history? I reckon it would cost more to get a UK car upto 300BHP with alloys, suspension etc?
Is the Jap STi an unrestricted version of the UK car with a jap suspension setup?
What do your reckon?????

I doubt that your company would insure you on a grey import due to not having a dealer network in the uk (subaru uk wont touch grey import cars) so the best way to go is with a type uk and the PPP which will also give you the 60k/3 yr warranty if anything goes wrong.
Tony
Ps must add that unless your company also wants to pay for bottles of octane booster (which i doubt) and super unleaded (which is still a must with the UK STi) then you could be pretty stuffed

Thanks guys!
Insurance and fuel ain't too much of a problem, currently running a very tweaked (285 BHP) Saab 93 Coupe and using 98 or Optimax as and when I want. I need something with Q-car looks (WRX fits!) but that ain't going to cost a load to modify! (STi fits). Anybody comment on TSL tweaks vs PPP? Really want ~300 BHP mark!
Is there a leather option on UK WRX's?

If you want warranty, then it's PPP. If not, then go for full decat and remap. I know of one tuner who reckons 300 ft lb of torque is possible on most cars with this approach.
Leather is an option, but is slippy and isn't really what you want coming out of corners at speed
