Exclamation

There are many threads about mechanical problems and I am starting to wonder if this gives a false impression of the reliability or lack of reliability of imprezas. For instance the clutch replacement under warranty thread currently running and seeming to affect MY97/98s, does this mean that I have this problem to come with my MY99? or are those likely to be isolated instances highlighted by the BBS due to the nature of such a service. After all nobody starts a thread 'MY98 no clutch judder' which would make a new Subaru owner like myself happy.

Hope you see what I am saying if a bit pointless

look at it the other way.
if people did not post problems then we would not know what to look out for and would not be able to read the replies for advice.
i have a my99 uk car and on my 1st year warranty i told my dealer that i had intermittent clutch judder.this was actually not true but after reading about it on the bbs and noting that it usually seems to happen over 10k miles i thought i would get it sorted(8k on clock).dealer told me that it was difficult to make a claim after 1st year so would sort it now.so i got a new clutch and flywheel for free.
thank you bbs
i would rather know what problems people have
so i can look out for them.
