approx 25 mpg, often less. 2 services per year. 1 small (£150-ish) and 1 big (£400-ish). tyres every 10k or so at approx £100 each. front discs at about 20k miles - £300+.
they are generally reliable so probably not a lot else.

The Impreza is one of those cars that you hate when you're filling it up (watching the fuel pump go round) or paying for maintenance bills......

...but LOVE it and FORGET the things you hated about it as soon as you drive it away.

Its one of those things you have to do before you die

IMHO of course.....

Thumbs up

Above costs are about right for me and I have a MY00 too!

22 MPG for me, new tyes at 19K, new front pads at 27K

Other main significant cost is insurance.

But far and away the most expenisve item for me is the Petrol!

But Hey! If it was cheap to run everybody would have one!

DanCup - its which ever comes sooner mate - not longer. You have to have it serviced at least twice a year. If you did 22500 miles a year that would be three services

Its things like this that lead to me selling mine. They're wicked cars but they end up costing an absolute fortune to run. Have a long test drive in one to make sure it is definitely worth the extra cost over your Cup.

Red face

Its worth noting that the 45k service is a cam belt change.
This could hit you for about £400
I bought a MY98 with 38k on it from a dealer last year.
I told him that i would not have the car unless the 45k service was completed. Job done
Since i have had a small service, but will be looking at the 60k service in septemberto keep my service record straight.
Great car to drive though
I average 22mpg

The cost of running my Scoob is seriously making me consider weather to keep it or not! Forever at the petrol station and the servicing is so so expensive!!! I am only 21 tho!!

Have a serious think if it is really worth it if you're getting a standard UK Turbo then it isnt gonna be a whole lot faster than your Clio!!!

Dunc.

ps. what is the Clio 172 like to run?- have you had any probs with it??!

I have a MY00 and reckon on around £400 a year for servicing, it's obviously cheaper up North!, tyres every 17K, no disks yet at 37K, although I do plently of motorway driving. 24MPG average.

Replaced the pads with DS2500's at 28K, much better than standard items.

People go on about the costs, but they're not that bad, considering the smiles per mile you get when driving it and nothing at the price sounds as good as that flat 4 engine.

<edited because of double post!!>

I have a MY99 Uk Turbo, tyres changed every 10k (£400-£500), servicing approx £600 per year, petrol at least £60 a week!

Lightbulb

tyres every 17K,
Try .............. Yokohamas lasted 7k
Bridgestones lasted 8k
Toyos lasted 7k (although not totally dead when changed)
And current Goodyear F1'S don't look like they'll go much past 6k

Oh and 4 sets of front brake pads in 18 months, £130 a pair (fitted from dealer)
One wheel bearing, 1 set hand brake shoes, 2 sets of rear pads, 1 set of discs (seriously uncheap), 3 MAF sensors, 1 O2 sensor, 1 engine, one gearbox, 4 services.....and all that excluding mods

Then on top of that, you've got to pray that nothing big goes wrong

You've been warned

PS Worth every penny and all the associated hassle

Smile

i had a fiat marea 2.0 20v before the scoob & that piece of **** cost more to run than the scoob in a year , cam belt service requires the engine out £600 what the **** is that all about on a modern car.
every garage seems to charge £40 minimum per hour for labour so if im going to pay that , i want to drive something that puts a big smile on my face , like a scoob !!!!
all IMHO of course
jay.

Cool

Last years service/MOT was just under a grand , that was with the belts being changed. However, I had a 7500 service today, which cost 110.00, which isn't much at all thank God!!!

Best of luck,

Ed
