When i went to buy my car, the dealer (not Subaru) had a print-out of the service history, which upon looking at it seemed intact apart from the 52.5k service was 1k overdue.

I got this done, and i ordered a service book. Then i thought "i know i'll send it to the old dealer and get it stamped". So i did, and they did.

Only it's missing 3 stamps!!! Including the 1000mile one!!

Is there anyway of finding out if its been serviced elsewhere, i find it difficult to believe its had the 7.5k and not the 1k!

Upshot is, i just paid out £445 for an extended warranty which is no doubt void

Any ideas?

Andy
(Yes this could only happen to me - service history looked complete when you're excited bout gettin a nice new scoob!!)

if it was sold as Full Manufacturer SH, I'd get down and tell him to stamp it up as per the print out.

Do you still have the print out?

If it has the car reg plate on it and its on headed paper I cant see them having a problem stamping it up.

Failing that start shouting

Good luck fella

The problem i have is that it wasnt a Subaru dealer. But yes they said it was FSSH. Unfortunatly i have no proof of this as it was on their webshyte and then i got it "confirmed" on the phone - i wouldnt have travelled the 150miles if i had know it had 3 services missing.

The printout i have is a fax - but does show the reg etc. The printout matches up with the stamps - but i cant understand that the first owner (a company) would not have the 1k service done (if not them all).

That's why i wondered if there was a way to find out where it had been done.

The strange thing is the engine was changed under warranty at 42k (says so on the printout). Now this seems weird to me if 2 stamps before this point are missing...

I would contact Subaru UK I cant see then authorising an engine swap if the service history was iffy. Have you tried contacting the previous owner ?

Surely given that the engine was changed at 42k does it matter that the 1k was missed? surely an oil change at 43k would be more important, but maybe not to the warranty company
