Does anybody else not get the Scoobyball thing?

I really do not mean this as any offence to anybody.I just c'ant understand why anybody would want to go to a Ball where the common factor is the brand of car you own.I barely have enough time to spend with 'real' friends ie those I went to School/Uni/Work with and have known for years let alone those that just happen to own the same car as me.Seems a little sad.D'ont these people have any proper friends?
As for the photos of the people who attended I w'ont even go there for fear of being lynched.

I was gonna go into a long reply about how good a night it was, how many people could put long known names to faces, how SK did so much work etc.
But I can't be ar$ed so if you can't see how many people really enjoyed such a cracking night then just go pi$$ off.

I have met lots of "proper" friends through having a Subaru and playing Counter Strike, and we regularly get together and have a weekend away, staying at each others houses etc.
We are all 20-40 years old, some married, some with kids etc, all mature adults who have a bloody good laugh together and had a common starting point - thats all it was, a START! An ice brekaer if you will. I expect the friendships Ive made to last until I die, or until they kill me
If you really DONT get it, then you are missing out. Maybe you just havent met the right "online friends" yet. But to say you dont get it without having tried it.. thats just silly

Treat it as a meet where you had to dress up
I have made some good friends through meets but I didnt go becuase my posh frock was at the cleaners . Seriously *****/dances arent my thing but they are for some people.
I doubt any of my mates would want to go to a ball so if did want to go one it would be a perfect opportunity. Cant see any harm in it and sounds like people had a good time.

sensitive? Dont be silly, you asked the question WHY, and people tell you - because its a great laugh.
How is that sensitive??
I think you are felling silly for asking now, and are trying to cover it.
Dont you got to local meets either then?
Why on earth are you a member of the forum, if you've no interest in the rest of the members?

Ahem, excuse me for stating the obvious but..... why is Deep Singh deriding the getting together of like minded folk IE Cars in Common, when he's actually posting his message on the Scoobynet website????? Isn't he guilty of a similar crime by this very act ????? Sorry but it just seems really daft !

The sensitive comment was to the guy who told me to 'p1ss off'.
Have I ever been to a meet? No,and I never would, but thats just my perspective. My opening statement did say no offence. As for feeling silly,I d'ont.Maybe you do?
'online friends,playing counterstrike' pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease!!!!!

Counter strike is FUN, for a bit at a time anyway, if purile
Its just summat to do whilst EastBenders is on telly and my son is asleep in bed and the wife is at the gym, otherwise I'd be out with my millions of mates, honest!

I wouldn't even bother getting drawn into this
I'm sure I can find time to fit my 'other' friends in as well.
Personally I enjoy meeting new folk and had a bloody good time on Saturday.
Its up to him if thats his opinion, no offence taken.
