It would appear that they are making up somewhat for their 'Getaway' article, as this months issue is pretty good.
There's a very good article on 'Rolling Roads , Dyno's and Torque' which is very informative.
There is also an Impreza buying guide, and they've published some of the letters complaining about last months issue (albeit with sarcastic replies!).
There's even a few free stickers to put in your rear windows!
And let's not forget the two young lads with Escort Cosworths, one even overtook an Impreza whilst going up a hill!!!!!
WOW! Top bloke!

Stef.

BUT if you read the "letters" section, they appear NOT to give a **** at all about the article.

Stef I seem to remember a Cosworth overtaking a vast number of Scoobies on sunday uphill, downhill and on the flat apart from one strange looking one with one silver tinted passenger side front window I've been reliably informed it's the latest style dontcha know

Seriously though guys how many thieves would go out and steal a car just on the basis of one article. Surely all the other normal road tests that sing the Scoobs praises would have just the same effect and your not suggesting that people should stop printing them. Lighten up guys it's just a bit of fun.....

Nice stickers though.......NOT

Weav'

P.S. How long till your car is back on the road Stef? Will it be in time for the next do at the Pod? Just in time for another whipping from the Bird Man

I thought only one ford was on the track that day? I can only presum you passed it in the cue for the burgers? Nothing will stop a hungry man!

I presume u passed the lambourghini aswell? Perhaps this time on the way to the toilet or something else very competitive?

StevenRW...i came, i saw, i stirred some trouble

Cool

Kris,
It's called track etiquette, and while I was warming the tryes up or cooling the engine down, I wasn't prepared to hold up people who were out on their "proper" laps, hence the courtessy of pulling over....

When running loads of boost you naturally get oil blow by the piston rings, when you lift of this is then sucked out of the engine causing the smoke. It is only something to worry about when it does it at idle. Also, as explained in another thread, it does this when I hit the rev limit and as I spent most of the day bouncing off this in 3rd gear (4th too long, 3rd not quite tall enough), then this is to be expected....

When under power, I came passed so many silver Scoobies, that I can't remember which one was yours - and as you say I spent most of the time sideways, which does nothing for forward momentum, hence why it seemed so slow (in comparison to some of the 4wd cars). Unfortunately Dono is a track that doesn't let the car stretch its legs - now Snetteton would be a different ball game!
LOL

Wink

Kris,
No bait taken - just telling it how it was - not how I'd liked it to have been..

ford secret weapon....the SMOKE screen

hehehe...oh well.

The only time a silver subaru would pass the cos up the straight is if the subaru had gone out of the pits the wrong direction.
