I was going to get my MOT this morning so I got up dressed and ready to go. I nashed out the door and down to the car port to be confronted with the worst sight a scooby owner can imagine - an empty car port! The car was gone and there was no glass! I checked out on the street in case I'd, for some obscure reason, parked it there but it wasn't to be seen The lack of glass suggested it was someone that perhaps knew what they were doing so I figured I'd become the victim of 'steal to order'
I cancelled the MOT and then I phoned sipie and talked to him for 10 minutes and was generally pretty hacked off. We discussed the insurance implications, etc and generally he was nice and supportive.
I then ambled back up to the flat to make the 'phone call' to Plod that we all dred but decided to phone my parents first to tell them. Just as the phone started ringing the penny dropped
24 hours earlier: Its friday morning, I'm tired and I'm running late. I've arranged not to take the car but have to walk 3/4 of a mile to meet my workmate. As I was running late i jumped in the car and drove it round to the entrance to my estate thus saving a vital few minutes. Following an easy day at work I was happily walking home in the evening sunshine when I spied a hot piece of *** ahead. I decided that I'd take the other entrance into my estate (6 and half a dozen) so that I could see if she had an ok face when we crossed at the lights (6.5/10 btw ) I got home, made my tea, scoobynetted, did some stretching and training and then went to bed. As I hadn't walk past my car on the way home I forgot I'd parked it a 1/4 mile from the house Unsuprisingly it was still there this morning Even managed to get my MOT squeezed in again which the car sailed through
Feel free to slag my stupidity

I totally forgot where I parked my old Calibra one day. Popped into my local boozer for a quick chat with my mate, woke up two days later and couldnt remember anything. Took me 8 hours b4 I traced it down to the first pub I had gone in to see my mate.
I do tend to be a little more carefull with my WRX though.

Drove car to shops (2 mins around corner) and walked home. It was not until I had to go out again several hours later that I realised that I had left it at the shops!!!
A mate went one step further, and called the police when he did a similar thing! Got his wife to ring to appologise to them when he remembered where it was.

I feel better now as my flatmate almost did the same thing this morning We'd been out on the town last night and he drove us in a left his car there. I watched with amusment this morning as he got dressed, put his jacket on and then picked up his car keys to go to the supermarket. It just as he got to the front door that I asked how he intended to get there

Losing a scooby is one thing. I have, in the past, managed to lose a house. I went out, got pissed and returned home to find the house gone, at which I passed out. When I recovered some ******* had moved me to somewhere else, and my house back to its original location. Hanging is too good for them.

A woman at work did a similar thing.
She'd parked in a multi-story car-park locally and went back to the wrong floor. Reported it to the police who never did a search, obviously!!!! Two days later, someone noticed it on the floor above, where (it turns out) she'd originally parked it.
How embarressed?!
