It was a simple ruse to get you to admit you read it! Oh, I know, you don't read it, you just look at the pretty pictures!

I noticed that they put the car in with all the pictures of the girls - obviously saying something about the owners of Scoobies . And Moray, didn't you know it was illegal to drive whilst on the phone?
LOL
Mike
PS Nice sticker
PPS Still awaiting your advice on what the difference is between a normal STi V3 Type RA and a V Limited one.....

Funnily enough Moray, I looked at the front cover in tescos yesterday only to see if you were in it. Had it not been in a sealed packet I may have opened it.
Mike, it isnt illegal to talk on the mobile whilst driving (yet)!
also I heard rumours that you couldn't keep up with Stef. Is this true?
Other posts on this seem to be unclear, so a simple yes or no will do.
Thanks.
Ps. your car was v impressive spitting flame everywhere on downchanges.

120?
my V-Limited is type RA STi and runs out of revs at 150mph but gets there mighty fast.
Get a type RA and wave goodbye to those Sti's!!
Seriousl;y though, motorway cruising is compromised but not badly so, might even help me keep my licence a bit longer!

Adam,
As I am an honest person the answer is yes in the morning and no in the afternoon (but he got held up by an Evo, so that probably doesn't count) .
However, once I had learned the track, I didn't get a chance to go out with him again, but I think (hope ) it would have been a lot closer....
Read my post on the RSOC BBS under "Donington Today" for what happened in the morning when he was supposed to be showing me the track...(he couldn't resist and bvggered off leaving me to make my own way round! ).
However, I freely and openly admit that Stef is a better driver round Dono than me (his 400+ laps experience do help somewhat). God that all sounds like an excuse. So okay he was faster than me on the day, but I'll be back....
LOL

Russ, you just confirmed what I said, i.e. that the V-limited has taller gearing, therefore can go quicker than the straight RA. I am only reporting what I heard and am prepared to be corrected

Oh b_gger, Mr Rainbird spotted it...
Lets see... Here goes...
Phone:
As I understand it, using the phone whilst driving isn't an offence per-se yet, but they can do you for due-care-and-attention. I doubt a cop is going to attempt to charge someone for using a phone whilst stopping/driving at less than 5mph in a car-park as long as that person is paying attention to their surroundings.
Type RA / VLimited:
My car is an STI 3 Type RA Vlimited. The car has the lightweight type RA bodyshell (the one with the roof mounted rally-vent). My car has the less silly sti gearing, giving over 160mph top end but not killing the acceleration too much.
Mike, I will get back to you, or you could give me a bell and we'll chat...

Moray,
As soon as I find a suitable car to quiz you about, you can count on me plaguing you with queries. I was only joshing about the phone (hence the winky smiley).
You still haven't elaborated on (excused) the sticker though...
LOL

Hi Mike,
I know you were kidding, just wanted to put the record straight in case others didn't!
Sticker:
I left the car on my drive overnight a day before new year, when I next went out to use it I found some barsteward had keyed the bonnet . It is a small but very deep scratch in the middle front of the bonnet. I deciided to cover it with a graphic until I get the bonnet resprayed, which I will do when A) I get around to it and B) it's got a couple more stonechips that require attention at the same time.
I have kind of got used to the graphic now, but I will have to remove it when I sort the paintwork. I will take that oppertunity to sort all the paint and have the car laquered.
Cheers,
Moray

I now see where mike rainbird has been hiding. On the subaru boards of all places . Hell its alot more lively here than in the rsowners site. Just a little PC tho.
I can see mike trading in his saphire any day now for a place for shep his sheep dog to sit. The passenger seat of a subaru of course! .
Well now.
