minister of speed

Just been reading on wrxforum.com - general forum (yankee site) about the "Cobb Tuning" auto-x car nicknamed "project conebasher".

They thought it was quick, so took it up the strip for a laugh, 0-60ft in 1.75 @ 57.3mph (0-60 in 1.9sec) !!!!!!!!!

Supposedly cost 70,000 dollars +.

I've never heard of any other car - yet alone a bugeye as quick as that..

Currently the fastest WRX is out in Australia and has hit 9.40 on a 1/4 mile strip.

The worrying thing is.....they haven't finished tweaking it and were surprised at the times themselves.

I look forward to seeing it break into the 8 second region soon!

Ever been to Santa Pod on a top fuel day. 0 to 100 in 1 sec Standing quater mile in 4 seconds with a terminal speed of 430 mph and all with a piston engine (not rocket powered)By the way the driver was a woman.

Sorry you are right The run I saw was 4.9 seconds and 320mph terminal speed I just checked the results The 400 + must have been Vanishing point. (Lunar landing module rocket powered)
