Self Install of Detector

just a quick question.Moderators please leave here for one day or until i get a response. just need to install my Geodesy GPS radar detector.I want to hard wire it but i need to find a POSITIVE and EARTH/NEGATIVE wire to scotch clip the power unit. Can anyone tell me which are the best wires to use and where they are.the wiring is NON Polar so it dosent matter whuch way i wire. thanks in advance

I think it would be best wired into the stereo wiring loom there you have a live a neatral and a switch live from the ignition.
Black is Neutral
Red is perm Live
Yellow is Switch live from ignition
You probably new this already but here it is again.

im intreged about this n all & did post a question as to how ya do it
Anyway my 20 questions r:
a) how do u get the wire from the detector or wotever ready to hard wire do u just kack off the bit which wood plug into *** lighter, then strip ends of wire(s)?
b) if that is the case how do u no which of those wires 2 attach 2 where (or was that wot previous "NON polar" comment was about?
c) er yeah cant remember wot back of *** lighter looks like but it is pretty easy 2 get 2 FYI specifics depend on model but basically just wack plakky bits aside on the top & unscrew those screws & the ones under gear gaitor thing, anyway back on track so wot/how do u attach 2 back of lighter thing wotever it may look like
d) oh how do u get to back of interior lights as an alternative etc& again how u wire into wot bit?

If it's an early dash, the console comes out with four screws.
There are two at the top, behind some clips and two at the bottom under the gear gaitor. Best to remove the stereo first. The cig lighter has two wires, positive that has a connector and the earth which is rivetted to the barrel.
Cut the wire on the geodesy that has the cig lighter plug on it and wire the one with the red stripe to teh positive then wire the orther one to an earth point or use the one with the rivet.
There are a couple of wires going to the side of the lighter but this is just the bulb to illuminate it when the lights are on
