New Boy part 2
#1
I'm looking at buying my first scooby in the next 2-4 weeks but like the guy earlier I'm not sure whether to go for a 96/97 import or UK spec. From what I understand their is about 30 bhp difference (forgive me if I'm wrong) and for me that means about £300-400 difference in insurance costs!
So do I get the UK spec and mod it over the following months - if so what mods do I look at to bring the UK spec in line with the import? or do I just go out and get an import?
What do I need to look for in a scooby of that year?
Cheers

The cash you save on modding the less BHP scoob to get it on par with the higher BHP scoob, and the extra insurance cost once the mods have been declared surely discount the saving?

That's what I was thinking, I would only really save money from the time I buy it until the time I mod it, I'm just not sure on what the common mods are and how much they cost - that would be the main factor I guess

For a decent full exhaust system (inc de-cat) and induction kit, which should give you the extra 30 BHP, your looking at £500 - £700, maybe more.
