How do your brakes feel?
#1
A strange question, what should the brakes on an STI7 feel like (standard brembo's)??
Not sure if alls well or I'm just used to over servoed brakes on other cars - Pedal seems to require a lot more pressure to get the car to stop (but always does), and the abs seems to cut in early (could I be braking harder than I think? less dive than I'm used to?).
Have never experienced any fade (but would imagine that's unlikely on the road with this set up) and pedal movement is not excessive so don't think they need bleeding.
Your thoughts.
Cheers

i swap between opel manta, ford focus and sti, find the brakes brilliant on sti, stops far better for the same pedal effort as my p1 with alcons did, never had abs cut in on the sti or p1, had it cut in on my97 with standard 2 pots twice though

For ages I thought my brakes were useless, in comparison to my previous MG F, then I looked at the speeds I was braking from and thought they were excellent
Just took some getting use to. (note-sensible method is to slow down)

So is the increased pedal pressure what everyone terms 'feel'?
Is there any special pad bedding in process that should be followed? If so can this be applied later in the pads life?
I have also noticed that the pads don't bite until a couple of harsh stops have been applied - is this just getting everything up to temp? Is it normal then for round town work not to get the pads to temperature?
