hi gang
i am thinking of buying a justy 5 door 1200cc
as a second car to the new sti8
i have found one for £500
it is a on a "j" which makes it 91-92 i think
it has only done 37,000 miles from new
it is taxed till may and mot'd to december
what i want to know is
0-60 times
top speed
more importantly....mpg
as i do about 700 miles a week
if i buy it ...please dont spot me....lol

The Justy's are the devils armpit and so should be avoided like the plague. Slightly quicker than an asmatic ant with some heavy shopping.Forget about top spped, 0-60 times, are u having a laugh?
MPG is valid though Typical combined about 30-35MPG.
As for being spotted, now you have told us what you are getting we will definately look out for you LMAO

edited to say.dont hit me it was IMHO

Cool

Why would you buy one of these? Basically its a regurgitated Suzuki swift, and is anything but! Who needs a 4x4 super mini anyway? All that weight makes it dog slow and they are very cheaply built and look like the old fasioned design that they are. Plenty of much better tackle around in this segment.
I believe the stats you requested are:- 96MPH and 13.6 0-60mph.
67BHP and 74ft/lb torque. 36.1mpg.

700 miles in a week in a Justy? Probably just about achievable, if you don't pull over to eat or sleep

If I had an STI8 sitting there too I think I'd find myself dreading getting in the Justy, so I'd drive the STI a hell of a lot more - maybe you'd save more money in the long run getting something older but a bit easier to live with?

David Henry used to do a tuning kit / Justy model called the RX90
which (shock horror) was up form 67 to 90bhp

Have you driven a Justy? It is shocking how the company that produces the STi8 can also produce something so far down the other end of the desirable/capable vehicle spectrum!

Just to be different - the 91/92 Justy is 3cyl possibly w/fuel injection (91/92 is the crossover point). You're looking at 67bhp for the Carb'd variant or 74bhp for the injected model. It's not a flyer 0-60 will be around the 11sec mark but you'll get 300+ miles to £15 worth of petrol. The early justy is not a swift (although the later ones are), it has push button 4wd. Build quality is standard for a small car of the early 90's - ****e.

Still, better than a fiesta! They're reliable (I've got one with 150k plus miles on it). Avoid the automatic trannys which are shocking.

Quote -"i could have a "my other cars an sti8" sticker in the back window...".......does that mean a "my other cars a Justy" in the back of the STi8 ? lol

Seriously M8 dont go there. I had one for 2 weeks while my turbo was in...worst two weeks of my life !!!! If it had been an animal I would have shot it to put it out of its misery.

Cheers, Gareth

Exactly. I don't see the problem with you all slagging the Justy off. Its reliable and thats the main criteria of an everyday runabout. Besides he will appreciate the STi8 more at the weekends. ......Blutes

of yellow sign writing with
"you can laugh but do you drive an sti8 at weekends?"
on the back window and down each side...lol
bty cvc have said 3rd week of march for the sti8
pick up a new wrx on saturday till the 8 arrives
driving around in their demo 03wrx at the moment
that will be 4 cars inside 6 months
