actually seen one in the new mica black with the gold fleck in it?
I have one on order in black but am a bit worried that when polished up in daylight that it actually looks a dark greeny black.
What's the verdict for those that have seen it? Is the gold fleck THAT noticable?
Help me out so that I can sleep well for the next 2 months!
It's not too late to change my mind!
Thanks
Dan

Thanks Andy,
it does look great in the pictures I have seen but I'm just a bit worried about that green fleck giving my nice car a greeny tinge!!
Have you seen one in the flesh, errm sorry metal?

When I placed my order they had a black car there but it was filthy!!! (surprise surprise)
He cleaned a patch to show me the gold in the metalic paint and it looked nice. However after looking at some pictures and reading one or two comments I am worried that it will look a green colour once polished and in bright light. I'm not a green kinda guy, even on a new scoob!

There's a black STI8 in the showroom of Tileys in Bristol - maybe worth a trip if you're unsure about the colour. Give em a call to make sure its there first!

M8, trust me you won't be disappointed. I was at the dealers earlier in the week looking at my black STi8, and it looks stunning.
Yes the gold fleck is visable, but only really shows in bright direct sunlight, but then it gives it some depth, not just a solid black. Photographs will not show the full effect - have a look at some of the pics that Sammyh posted of my car in the members gallery, and you will see that the fleck isn't really noticeable, and it when it is it sets the gold alloys off nicely ( and I hate gold alloys !!!!!!)
WRC blue will always be the colour that's associated with scoobies, but that doesn't mean that its the only colour to have. My MY98 turbo was green mica, MY00 prodrive was mica red, and my STi 8 is graphite black....suppose it will be silver next time....I guess I like to be a bit different.
Ultimately though, we DRIVE scoobies, not just look at them...if the only colour available for the STi 8 was Austin Maestro beige, I'd still buy one !!!!! ;-)
Get the black...you know it makes sense !!!
Cheers, Gareth

Welches in Cambridge have a black my03 sti in their showroom. looks very nice with the gold wheels and the gold fleck, But it seems to make the bonnet scoop look even bigger than the sti 8 in wr blue.
just my opinion.

I'm not sure what to do about wheels. Not sure about gold (although they look better than I thought), respray seems a waste on new wheels, not sure of whether to sell new ones and get 18" in right colour. dilemmas dilemmas.
Also, what is the p-ff7?

Having same dilemma on mine too RichieM! But can't see why I have to pay full price for a set of 18s if I don't want the standard golds! BTW pff7s are the prodrive wheels that are made by speedline (I believe) they have a picture of them on JW racing's website.
Scooby-Monster! I saw a black one when I went to see my new WR Blue STI8. The gold fleck is very obvious in the sun and when the sun shines on it the colour is fantastic. I must admit it does look a little bit greeny, but more in a flip paint effect kind of way. This greeny effect is only really noticeable in the sun, but not as bad as it might sound.
