I am under the belief that our cars are immune from the (ill) effects of Torque Steer due to the fitment of equal length driveshafts.

Question 1. Is this true, and

Question 2. Are equal length driveshafts chapter and verse on combatting TS - assuming they are both equally 'elastic'/resistant to twisting.

Not completely. It helps a lot but over bumpy roads the driven wheels can be at different points of suspension travel which can cause torque steer.

But yeah a AWD with equal length driveshafts is a pretty good setup as far as reducing TS goes.

Someone on another board was commenting that a 'theoretical' 2WD Scoob *might* be able to accelerate quicker than a 4WD one 'if' you could eliminate the losses that are typical in a 4WD transmission!

I guess the answer is possibly, in the dry, *if* RWD but almost certainly not if you assumed FWD.

My thoughts are that it's the 4WD tranny that gives our cars the advantage from 0-30 and with a 2WD set up you would lose that early advantage and this would be very difficult to make up.

Yes you certainly can, and the Scooby will also show torque steer if not that excessive.
