Yes I know, very naughty - this is cross posted in another forum but only about 10 people read it today
Any suggestions please. I am in Herts. My nearest dealer has never heard of the PPP going for less than £2000 RRP although to be fair he is looking into it with Prodrive. The other dealer I use and who used to do the discount seems to have ceased trading for the time being
I have seen prices of £1550 - £1650 mentioned on here

PPP=Prodrive Performance Pack (ecu upgrade, intercooler pipeing upgrade and new exhaust) - the only engine upgrade that is warrantied by Subaru - but as your car is likley to be out of warranty, I'm sure that others will be able to suggest mods that will give similar power gains but at a greatly reduced price - or even more power for the same price !!!!!!!!

I'm sure there are plenty of Scoobynetters who have modded their car and got similar gains to the PPP. What you pay for with the PPP is the fact that is covered by the original Subaru warranty, so on a new or nearly new car it is the safest way to avoid big bills if something goes wrong. Also you can tell your mates its prepared by the same company that do the World Rally cars !!!!!!!!!
As regards the best way to mod your engine for maximum bangs per buck, I suggest we follow Who Wants to be a Millionaire and ASK THE AUDIENCE
Good luck
Gareth
Edited to apologise to Boost if i've inadvertantly hijacked his thread, sorry M8

as I understand it the WRX PPP is £1600 and the STI PPP is £2000. I would say it is worth it if the car is new or still under warranty outside of this you can buy better or cheaper components elsewhere and get what you want rather than the prodrive package deal.

MY97 you say.
I enquired about it for my 98 Wagon when I bought if from the Scooby dealer and was told £2000 which seemed a bit steep to me especially as the kit for the latest model is only £1600. . . . . . . .

Have a look here for my car, before and after...
Dyno run
Main thing is the driveability and the sound, both of which are hugely better! Lots of , particularly through tunnels with the windows down

I had the PPP fitted to my car this morning and paid £1550 all in. I had to travel to the Warwick site to get it fitted and only too them 2 hours.Your dealer will be able to sort this for you,as mine did.

I found a 2000 PPP car by chance in the breakers and bought the ECU, Exhaust and Intercooler. I knew it was all a lower spec than my TypeR anyway and I sold it to a Scoobynetter for £750.00. I didnt do it for big profit, I just couldnt let it go to waste.
The guy who bought it managed to get it fitted and added to his warranty by a main dealer. All they needed were the chassis details of the donor car. In the end I went one better and also obtained the service book for him as the car was scrap.
This is not a one off incident as a previous sale of the kit which fell through also had a dealer offer to do this.
Just thought id share the option to buy SH. Check with your dealer and then scour the breakers.
