I was carrying out some experiments on my private road the other day, and I noticed a funny noise starts up at an indicated speed of about, err... well quite a bit. It sounds a bit like those plastic pipes that you whirr about in the air and they make a sort of ringing noise.
Anyone else noticed this or is it a case of "They all do that, sir"

Mine did this at around 130-140 too, especially with a head wind.
It sounded like blowing across the top of a bottle.
It happened at the ring at exactly the same part of the track every lap.

It is a bug eye, yes. I thought it was coming from the wing mirror area, too. and it was that sort of noise you get from a half full bottle. Maybe this is Subaru's little way of saying "are you sure you really want to be going that fast..?"

NO way! I was going to post this up yesterday but I forgot! Seems to be above 125mph, scared the hell out of me cos it is extremely loud!!! Sounds like one of the air seals being breached or something.
