Discounts & SIDC
#2
10% on parts I believe. It is not just the discount from dealers that makes it worth the £30 a year. Think of all the events/track days that the SIDC organises and the discounted ticket prices, Japfest in May being a prime example.
What about the fact that you will be part of the greatest club in the world

You could of course asked this question on the SIDC BBS
However before I get flammed YES Scoobynet gets a little more traffic
But to answer your question you can usually expect 10% on parts and labour at the dealers that participate
Hope that helps
any other question Phil@sidc.co.uk and I will do my best to answer them for you

On a slight tangent :-
Should I pay the cheap prices and go to Mill Lane Basingstoke (which is now a Scooby and Evo dealer (and a few other lower models)), or pay the extra and go to Lancaster Pangbourne (Reading) and get the 10% discount.
I've heard bad things about both places.
Any opinions?

I've been to Mill Lane before (not done a service there though) - I'm living in Farnham so the closest. There's also Haslemere, never used them and further away (even more so for you). I would recommend Mill Lane, very professional and courteous. Didn't think they did a discount for SIDC... Correct me if I'm wrong.
For my 1st service since I got the car, I went to Cheam up towards London, about an hours drive but you can enjoy that if you take the non-boring route (I took it easy on the way back and when I went to pick the car up again 'cos it was the weekend it snowed). I got a free courtesy car for my big service (inc. cam belt), and 10% discount. Had the 1st MOT too. The discount paid for my SIDC membership more than twice over this year. Was pretty happy with the work done although I needed to point out that an internal map-reading bulb needed replacing (MY00).
They quoted £50 less for the service than Mill Lane did, that and the 10% made it more than worth the extra petrol I used - even 'enjoying' my travel to and fro. I did ask before hand if I could either be driven back home or have a courtesy car. Can't remember who I dealt with, there's two people there who handle customer service for car servicing (I think).
Note: no other connection to them other than a previous customer.
