Was just looking at the spec, was it realy this good, just curious.
quote'The SVX featured a 230hp horizontal six cylinder engine which is arguably one of the best engines ever designed. One automotive editor described it as being "so silky smooth it makes the Porsche 911's engine seem utterly rough and unrefined." The engine was mated to an intelligent 4 speed automatic gearbox and a VTD AWD system with limited slip differentials. Four Wheel Steering was available in some markets. This combination helped to make the SVX an untouchable supercar no matter what the road condition. '

too heavy mate, i believe that you should buy this car if you're looking for mile eater. i am not saying that you can't tune it(twin turbo conversion has been done, read it in a SVX club site some motnhs ago), but it will never be as agile as the impreza. If you want something different go for it.

Sounds like a winner.
Body looks serious bad. Hence no sales. Therefore end of story.
Still, it brings up the old question of why can't they transfer 2.5 or 3.0 twin turbo's to englands best loved car.
I'm probably living in dreamland, but a P1 with a twin turbo 3.0 could be quite quick!
How quick. Any ideas?

A lot of SVX's are in poor condition. They dont attract the kind of owner who will look after them Seen a few in London for £2500.00 bit looked rough.

Big and fat ! More for cruising.
It came out when the Japanese car makers were influenced by the californian cruiser sports car fad !
Mitsubishi had the 3000GT, Nissan had the over weight 300ZX, Eunos (Mazda) had the Cosmo 20B, Toyota had the Soarer. But somehow the GTR and Supra, though big cars, managed to survive.
