Question

Getting my MY03 WRX in a few weeks and have a few questions....

Whats the recommended style/number of miles for run in? 1,000 under 3,500rpm (just tease the turbo)?

Recommended oil?

Recommended fuel?

The usual Subaru stuff I'm afraid.

4k ish for the first 1000 miles, without labouring the engine, the cars come with a thinner 'running in' oil.

Use decent fuel. I'm not sure what the current thinking is with regard to WRXs, but I would think that SUL would be a good idea.

Best idea is 1000 miles (ish) then get the oil changed.

After the service, don't thrash it. Gradually build it up past the 4K range.

Heard a few bad stories about flooring it just after a service. Don't go straight for 8K in 3rd, or things could go pear shaped.
Give it another 500 miles before you really go for it.
