Just had confirmation from Subaru UK that the 03 WRX comes with bucket seats and side airbags. It seems that in another thread that the imports have Sports Seats and buckets are an option at cost.

Panicked a bit when I read the other post as we have ordered an STi 8 and a WRX and couldn't remember the dealer asking us if we wanted buckets in the WRX

Are you talking about parallel imports from Holland, etc, or Grey from Japan?

BMW, I am getting rid of my Civic Type R (CTR) for an STi 8, and my other half is trading her Classic MY00 for a 03 WRX.

I made the mistake of selling my EVO VI and getting the CTR, it was all to do with value for money as I was only driving 8 miles a day in the EVO. Then I changed jobs and have a nice 25 mile drive to work, so time for 4wd action

Cool! You'll love the STi8, best scooby yet (IMHO), but like all the others that came before, it needs the PPP (or similar!)!!

Riiiiight, I'll get onto my Dutch dealer then to confirm. He's given me a quote for the full UK spec, which I assume includes the correct seats...

It should do m8, if he tells you otherwise kick his a$$.

In the other thread they said it was $380 euros extra for the buckets.

BMWhere, I will be getting the PPP after the first service (1k).

Why is it that time doesn't fly when your waiting for your new car

Tell me about it! I had just arrived in Italy for the week when my dealer phoned me to say it had arrived, so I had to wait even longer knowing it was just sat there waiting for me

Then you've got to run the bugger in

I clocked the mandatory 1600km last Saturday though and have been ever since! Can't get PPP in Germany but can get 300ps upgrade which I'll be fitting after Easter! Strutt brace and quickshift are being fitted on Tuesday

Quickshift on the STi that mus be a mega quickshift, I haven't driven the STi 8 yet or even the 7 so it will be a nice suprise when I get mine.

I did the same with the EVO VI, just rolled it out the showroom and couldn't stop smiling

Boyakasha

Bucket seats are 385 euros less in Holland. The new sports seats are dearer because they came with airbags (according to the Dutch MY03 quote I have in front of me).

I am awaiting confirmation of the above from Holland, as I heard that the MY03 airbags are door mounted so both types of seats should be available with side airbags.

Will post an update when I get it.

Cheers

Paul

Previous post below:-

I've just received a quote from Gertjan for a MY03 WRX (he's just got word on the Dutch prices for MY03 models).

In Holland you can order bucket seats (no airbags); OR the newer sports seats (with airbags)for an extra 385 euros excluding vat.

Does anyone know for sure if the side airbags are fitted to the doors? If they are then why can't I have airbags with the bucket seats?

I like the bucket seats but would prefer to have side airbags too. Anyone got any thoughts on the sports seats? Are they any good?

Cheers
Paul

Cheers for that Paul, Subaru UK did say that they came with side air bags so not too sure about where they are located.

I would have assumed they were in the seat.
