Hi guys,
I have just found your wicked site, it was just what i was looking for.
The thing is that i am after some information about the different types of scoobys there are out there. I am looking to buy one soon. I have about £6500 to spend on one, so i guss that it will be a L reg or so that i will get. I am looking at the WRX one. But what is the difference between a import and a UK car. How would i know what thay are.

Any details on the different scoobys (Power, kit, wheels etc) would help me a lot.

Thanks All

Hi Mike!

So your selling the yellow thing then

Have a read through of the SIDC FAQ That will tell you the basics of what to look for etc...

As for what to buy look into the insurance costs first, and then got and try out a UK car, and a WRX etc... and see what takes your fancy.

Ian - you might know me as LB though

Hello Ian.

Thought that i would find you on here. Ya the hiss of a Dump Valve is calling... So a UK WRX is the one i am looking for.
So ian, as a cally owner, do you think it is the right thing to do. Cally - WRX?

My insurance will only be £100 more then the cally.

Mike,

The only UK WRX's are the MY01 and 02 cars, otherwise known as a 'bug eye' or the MY03 the 'blob eye'

If you get a 'classic' impreza in a WRX flavour then this will be an import.

£100 a year extra on the insurance is not a lot at all, and trust me, the Impreza is an awful lot more fun to drive! Was that cost for a UK Impreza or a WRX?

Will there be a big change in the WRX..

What makes the WRX better then the UK 2000 model?

The difference in cost between a UK and a WRX wil depend on how many times the insurance companys secretarys pet dog barked before breakfast!

As for the UK WRX thing, that is a bit of a can of worms your opening there!

Things to consider are that the WRX will be mapped for 100RON fuel if it has its standard ECU, and that will mean that you should really run it on SUL + Octane Booster.

The key thing for you to do at the moment I would say is to experience them both, UK and a WRX and see which takes your fancy (subject to insurance premiums of course)
