After 2 years away from the fold I'm ready to get back into Scooby ownership by buying a new WRX (Now the looks, performance and mpg seems spot on).

What is the lowest price I can expect to pay at a UK dealer for a WRC or Silver WRX? I've managed to get them down to £19,000 but they do not want to drop any further.

Any help is greatly appeciated.

PS to help fund this I'm selling my wife's MY52 Clio Cup for £11,000 ono (just 2,250 miles) - I've put the details in the "For sale" section if anyone is interested.

you can have a uk spec import delivered to your door for around 16.5k from a reputable importer like litchfield. same warranty and servicing etc.

I dont expect you'll get much more movement from a UK dealer than 1k on a brand new car. If you get it down to 18 you'll be lucky i reckon.

Thanks Eagle 7. I checked out Litchfield Imports a few days ago. Only the car's they have in stock are £16.5k, Since they have no 4 door saloons available you have to factory order which is £17.3k. The difference is only 1.7k, my dealer has one in stock and it will be worth more when I sell it. Although I'm not sure if the differnce will be 1.7k at resale time.

Which dealer offered the £1000 off? Was that a cash deal? How did you barter them down?

a uk spec model is only worth more than a euro import if you intend to trade it into a dealer. In a private sale it makes very little difference.

I don't want to say the dealer name until I have reserved the car, then I'll let you know if I go down that route. Yes it was a cash deal. It's been in the showroom for two weeks so I guess they are keen to do a deal. It surprises me no one has brought it yet because it looks fantastic and the reviews have been very good. I hate the money you lose on a new car so the bigger the discount the less it will hurt when i sell it on.
