What does PPP mean?

The details of the PPP for the new shape should be on the Subaru UK website. You'd need to search around on here or on other Scooby websites for details of previous years. I think I have a link to the MY99/MY00 PPP somewhere.

Thanks for the information. I like the performance of the new STI, but prefer the understated look of the standard WRX. Was wondering if I could obtain the power of the STI using a standard WRX to start with, adding the Prodrive kit. Or, could I ditch the spoiler and gold wheels on the STI, to make it look less of a racing car?

There's more than just the power that's different.
There's a 6 speed box, quicker steering rack, different bits on the engine (dunno details, no doubt someone will post a link or something), different exhaust, different brakes (fantastic brakes), different diffs (see comment on brakes), different interior (seats, carpets, steering wheel)...
Saying that, you can take the WRX to 260bhp using the PPP, or at least that's the figure in this month's evo. More is possible using other routes, but isn't warrantied like the PPP.
Cheers,
nick.

Then maybe the best route would be to go with the STI and remove the wing from the boot, and change the wheels to something other than gold. I suppose I could fit the standard WRX spolier to the boot?

Strormangle, in Japan they made the WRX and the WRX STi, whilst in the UK they called it the Impreza Turbo. I think the WRX had about 250 bhp ? and the WRX STi was 276bhp. Lift the bonnet would be a good start as you should have and STi TMIC, not sure about the body kit however ?
PS Butkus are you taking the p1ss or do you really want a WRX
