Will it be regarded as the one that caused Subaru most distress ?Will it be the one everyone hated ?
Will it be comparable to the first incarnation of the Escort mark5 ?
Will it remain unloved by Scoobynetters ?

Do I care ?
Do I f@@@ its my car and I love it !!

What do you think ?

Whats wrong with the car apart from the eyes ?

Its a far superior vehicle to the classic. And I've had two classics so I can comment

I agree Steve, its when I read certain comments in magazines and most recently the press (todays Sun) that made me post this thread.
I find the car superb. I have driven a classic shape and I think my MY02 wagon "feels" better....Blutes

Well at least it´s different.

The Blobeye is just a normal Bugeye with a Legacy front

IMHO i much prefer the bugeye albeit with the morette head lamp conversion but now i think it's gorgeous and wouldnt even consider the IMO again very ugly new blobeye, i'v only had my car for three months and never owned a classic but am smiling from ear to ear every drive i take.

I've seen the STi8 and no thanks. I don't go for that "kinder" look. I'll stick with my STi7 - uglier is definitely more agressive...LOVE IT!

LOL @ the libellous Spoon!!

I think Bugeye may be the thing that will have caused Subaru the most distress - in the UK that is.... I think they've lost impetus in the market and will find it hard to recover: as the motoring press says, every manufacturer and his dog has a 200+ bhp something.

AIUI Bugeye was successful in the US, and if I read the runes right, that's the market they're going for.....

Having seen STi8, I certainly don't feel uncomfortable with my 7 - I'm with you there Blutes.

What makes a car is the 'turn head' factor and the bugeye hasnt got this. R33, R34, Delta integrale, escort cossie, evo 6 all have this. The X factor.

The shape is horrible. Not aggressive at all. Just plain foul. Each to their own but stop trying to kid yourself pls.

Dont care how it drives.

I would not drive a 300bhp skoda so.......

I don't know what planet you currently live on but my wife refuses to drive the Scoob as it attracts too much attention!

Sti Shrek,
You say the Sti hasnt got the "turn-head factor". Then why do ppl stare at the car when driving down any high st. Maybe you need to open your eyes a bit.

chip

they stare because they cant believe how ugly it is.

Seriously in standard form it is nothing special.

If you change the alloys and spoiler like that silver one above then it looks much better.

Im not a member of the scoobynet 'yes' brigade so if you dont like my views then watever. Dont take it to heart like some of you do.

only a car!!!

I do have to agree slightly with sti but as soon as i put morettes on my my02 it IMO is pure sex and i get nothing but stares from all walks of life and i love every minute of it.i also could of had an OLD classic shape but much prefer the look of new with the flaired arches much nicer wheels as standard but this is all IMHO.

I've got a bugeye with a few mods and UK300 lights (but might be going to STi ones ) - I like it

Asked my local dealer if the bugeye really bombed and he said no - you've just got to make a car that's press-friendly within 5 seconds of them opening their eyes or they slate it full consideration obviously given to how it drives then...NOT

Fed up with ppl saying the UKsti was a flop. If so then how come all 750 of them were sold so quickly.

Morettes suck! If anyone would like a set for their STi 7 I'll gladly buy them and pay fitting in exchange for the stock lights.

IMHO - STi Shrek has a point - the STi7 was a rapid turnaround to try an recoup poor sales for a car that should never have been...

The MY03 is right - the bugeye will go down in history as a lemon IMO ! You simply shouldnt have to MAX POWER a scoob to that extent to get it looking right

What idiot buys a car and then trys their best to change its looks?? JUST DONT BUY IT IN THE FIRST PLACE!! plenty of sensible heads didnt and thats why Subaru had to bring out the MY03!!

Subaru couldnt sell it and I fear that the current owners would find it easier selling an Al Johnson dressing-up outfit at a KluKluxKlan fancy dress party!!

Pete
