STOLEN AT 3AM THIS MORNING!!!!
#1
Awoken at 3am this morning to the sound of my Scooby going walkabout. They have broken into the house and taken the keys before making off at high speed. Scoobysport exhausts are as good an alarm as any, as I woke up as soon as the car was started but it was too late....
So, if anyone sees a silver MY00 with P1 alloys cruising around East Lancs / West Yorks, W249 RNC be sure to call the police.
Gutted.

strange weather to go stealing cars and making a fast getaway though (ie. icy and snowy) - they must be retards as well as scumbags
Hope you get it back (in one piece) soon

Dales - you are f*cking joking mate
What a load of crap, tosspots
A mate of mine had the same done a few weeks back in Earby, and the cops found the car in Burnley - a group of hams had it, and they reportedly had 2 stolen P1's as well.
I will find out where they found it, may be worth having a look there.
Will also keep an ear out for it.

Tough break mate, did they do much damage to the house?
I know we're advised to put the keys out of site but I have to say I leave mine on the doormat.
If they're willing to break in to get them then I don't want to make them hang around.

Sorry to hear that you have had your scoob stolen
But i have to emphasise that with cars like ours you need a tracking system minimum if not also some form of anti hijack unit to enable these scum to be caught and hopefully prosecuted and sent down.
Its too late for the outcome of this but atleast you and your family are safe which is what counts

Dales
Just had a chat with my mate that had his nicked from Earby.
They found it down near the Bowling alley in Burnley. Top of Parker lane, police station on the left ( ), and accross the road in those old garages - there are a load of taxi firms there and a few garages.

So sorry to hear this again on here. After the last few reports of "Key snatching" I have fitted a "Black Jax" anti car jacking
immoboliser. It's a great bit of kit for £170. The scum can get away in your car, only for it to stop dead with brake lights flashing half a mile down the road. At least they're out of your face and attracting lots of attention. I also sleep with my keys close at hand. Hope you get your car back mate

Thanks for all your responses...
Nothing new to report really. Police have concluded that it was a very professional job, and I have to agree looking at the way they have broken the lock on the front door without waking us. A very neat job. The local locksmith hadn't seen it before, and was interested as it would be a minimal damage way to break into people's houses when necessary (e.g. locking keys in house)
Police don't think I'll see it again, although I've got a sneaking suspicion that it will be used in some criminal activity and then dumped. I don't really want it back if damaged to be honest.
Regarding key locations, I deliberately leave keys downstairs, as don't much fancy tackling villains at 3am. The anti-hijack devices look great though. Would definitely have one on my next car (assuming I get something similar, which is by no means certain the way I feel at the moment).

Seems to be a lot of these kind of thefts around our way recently.
Glad that your OK, we know how you feel about not wanting the car back after it has been stolen, it doesn't feel the same again
