Question

hi,
I have just joined this board.
I have a 97 Legacy GTB, unfortunatly one of the head gaskets has blown, and is has a fairly bad oil leak.
I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good garage/engineer who would be able to sort the car out for me, as all the people i have contacted are not intrested because it is a grey import, they do not have experience with these engines etc etc....

Cheers John

Welcome to the world of GTB . Where are you ? The subaru garage here in Belfast was happy to look after my GTB - but one of the mechanics put me on to a mate of his who works from home here in NIreland - he seems to know his stuff. He has a single turbo legacy boosted to 400 bhp (cosie pistons, big turbo etc.) I shall be trusting him in the very near future.

Sorry didn't read the Eyorks. Why won't the subaru garage not service it? Its not as if they are selling a uk equivalent is it.

Hi,
My Subaru garage will not touch the car for some reason, in the past i have asked them to service it and they were not intrested.
I contacted them about a week ago asking them if they would sort out the problems with the car, once again not intrested, they said they could not gurrantee any of the work they carried out on the car so therefore did not want to do it.

Cheers John

John,
Your best bet would be to take it to TSL in Nottingham. They have a fair bit of knowledge on the Twin Turbo's. Mines going there soon for a similar problem, loosing coolant and think its the head gasket.
