So people think they're getting old and all that when they consider buying a wagon

I was 21 when i had my wagon. And it was cool

So Who's the youngest wagon owner ATM & what's the average age of wagon owners? It can't be that old surely?

Wagons are best!

I wasnt allowed one. Its a shame cos for the same price as my car i coulda got one a few months younger and only 11k miles for the same price - if i had got 5 door.

My girlie wasn't impressed that i considered it.

only good lookin estate / wagon /avants ever made are the S2, RS2, and RS4 by audi, just my opinion, but i guess wagons are cheaper for a reason.

i maybe a bit bias tho as i used to have an 80 Avant, very low with very big khans, that made it look S'ish at a glance, and a lot better than standard.

p.s. i had that from 22-24, and had the **** taken (before mods) 'when you getting the Black lab and brats, keep your wellies in the back' that type of stuff

When I bought my Scoob, I wouldn't have considered getting a wagon. I've now changed my mind. I think they look good. I'll admit I'd still go for a saloon if I was choosing purely based on looks, but that's not very likely. I also believe that wagons are more stable and handle better as standard. I've been a passenger in Gossy's wagon with slicks on the rear wheels, on a wet airfield. Wagons rock.

Cool

The wagons are awesome to drive compared to the saloons. The only bug-eyed version Impreza I would get, would be a wagon as it seems to really suit it.

Wagons are kewl.
I know, 'cos I've got one.
It's better looking than a 4-door pants taxi any day.

Plus, 9 out of 10 criminals agree with me

Aahhh. Reasoned replies.

Wagons, PAH! REAL scooby wagon drivers drive Foresters like me! I had my 1st one at 24. And yes, the bugeye wagon is definitely better than the saloon.

I drive a wagon- not 'cos it was any cooler but due to the fact it was a grand less than the equivalent saloon. I'm just 30 so I guess that puts me in the old fart category.

Wagons rock especially red ones! Most people don't know what it is until it whups them at the lights.

best thing about a wagon is that the criminals seem to prefer a P1 or saloon!! also the look on my neighbours face when his boxster was left staring at the back end of my 'estate' car was worth every penny....

wouldn't want a saloon as I like the q car qualities of the wagon with no penalty for performance..apart from the rattle in my tail gate!!

wagons rock, my "ambulance" is a white skoda estate, total sleeper effect plus the extra weight at the rear pushes the weight distribution further back (for a front engined car) and is more "playable" for throwing the back out under power.

Plus, most wagons are set up with firmer suspension at the rear in preparation for heavy loads, which makes it more fun also.

(Oh, and I'm 26, 25 when I got it, not *that* old!!)

Done right the Wagon looks a far better vehicle, most of the Saloons look like a Daewoo with a gash on the bonnet, apart from that is, the limited editions.

Cool

spoon you are asking for bother with that remark...daewoo...lmfao!!!
prefer wagons myself though soz..don't regret going the 5 door route for one minute.....street sleeper/baby carrier/performance bargain.....and there is no way a saloon could cope with the life my motor has??!?!!?!but i still think anything scoob is cool!~!!!!just 5 doors do it better......jase

I ordered mine new just before turning 25.

Reason I decided on the Wagon, looks far far better than the saloon, but more importantly I also felt it was slighty more inconspicuous than the saloon, I didn't want to be pulled over regularly by the police, although plenty of young lads will point/look, so maybe that theory is out of the window

The more I see it the better it looks!

Handling is superb and plenty of room for odds and ends in the 'large' boot space, came in handy when moving house last year!

My mates aptly name it 'The hearse' !

I'm 27 and drive a wagon and bought it when I was 25. I like the looks of both the 4 and 5 door Scoobies, but felt the 5 door offered a bit more practicality than the 4 door did, for no loss in performance.

As people have said, the Q car thing is superb as most people don't expect a poxy estate to be quicker than their car. Little do they know what I've got hidden under my bonnet!

I was 27 when I got my classic STi v3 Wagon.

Very sleeper/Q car, save the gold wheels.

As for the handling, add a rear strut brace and the car is fantastic.

People on trackdays don't like being overtaken by something with a tow-bar though

I'm 26 got my wagon 3 months ago, great car, fecking fast, loads of boot space, doesn't have a large trolley handle type spoiler (so called 'cos it spoils an otherwise decent vehicle). 'Nuff said.

My 5 door has a slightly loose feeling from the rear as I'm going roungd bumpy corners (kind of like the back end will step out if your not careful), I'm not lifting off mid bend thouhg and my Puma doesn't do it - any ideas to what's going on? Is it just how the car handles and has anyone else noticed it?

Cheers

Stewart
