Young people & wagons. Cool or not?

I got a 5 door at 26
2 real reasons
when you park it nose in at a car park no body notices and leaves it alone. The other is my wife (was my girlfriend at the time) said the 4 door looked like a treved up escort, and if you squint you can see it

brethren!
i agree with just about all the comments regars:
1. q-car benifits in terms of police, vandals and competitors
2. getting stuff in the thing
3. they look better anyway.
4. not every other bloke/lady has got one!
5. they are absolutely no different to the saloons perfomance/handling wise
clearly the conessieurs choice!
having scooby sport system fitted saturday - will be even ruder!
hi jasemac. found me an interior yet bruv! after one at the right price, xmas has caned finances a bit though, so be gentle with me!

my97 wagon in silver.
Front strut brace, Rear strut brace, Anti-lift kit, Urpated rear anti roll bar, Solid drop links, Eibachs, Brembos/AP's.
I'd say that qualifies it as
(although don't mention i'm 37, please! )

Nah, it's not that stealthy until you get a FMI, a standard bonnet and a sport badge on the back.
What I'd also want is a free flowing twin pipe exhaust, rather than a 3" single pipe. Is PE the only company to do one ?

Forgot to mention in earlier post.
Age – 39.
That'll push the average age of Wagon drivers up
Incidentally; car has bumpsteer mod, K & N filter, Magnex centre section and 6"x4" back box plus Pagid 8-groove front discs. Sounds like THUNDER and makes 247bhp at PE.
The only replacement for it would be an STi8 wagon...a mythical beast that only seems to exist in the hopes of us British Scoob freaks.

Edited 'coz I forgot to add my Forge dump valve...DOH!

Wagon's rule .. end of story!
31 (had wagon for 2 years), DBM MY00 + SS DP + SS BB + Dawes.
Only exterior mod really is 17" wheels ... stealthy and a little road rocket
My take on it (and life in general) .. the saying 'If you've got it, flaunt it' is ALL wrong, if you do have it you don't flaunt it .. now that's true cool. You know yourself that you have it ... bollox to everybody else ... way cooler
Pushed the average age up a bit though
Doofus.

I absolutely refused to buy a wagon when I was looking (age 31) - just couldn't see myself thrashing round in an estate car.
Boy did I regret it when I bought an old house and needed to buy stuff to refurbish it, or go with my family and suitcases to the airport.
Wouldn't touch a saloon now, especially with the radars, carjacking, Max Power and "My spoiler size reflects the contents of my trousers" reputation.

02 WRX Wagon in silver
Modes: ProDrive lights, front rear splitter.
Looked at 4 and 5 doors and as I use roof bars and easily fill the boot with diving equipment the wagon was the only answer and with the black ProDrive light against the silver it just looks the muts.
Plus at meets there are all these common 4 doors and very few wagons.
( must say that it was a hard decision to make, and I do look at the 4 doors and think may be i should have got one, but then again may be I should have gone for 2 doors P1 )
One problem with having a wagon it that I get mates calling me to help them move stuff

lmao at brendans contents of trousers comment
the wagon is defo the choice vehicle.
some one said to me would i not prefer something like a boxter. personally i think the boxter is the xr3i of the performance car world. just so , i dunno , eeeuuughhh!
plus you can't get 2.4 metre lengths of 4"x2" in a boxter i am run a building firm and have stuff to get from time to time. never put anything really sh1tty in it, but does come in handy. plus if i am gigging out on the mainland with mates, i can get the four of us, plus 1 to 2 record box/bags per person in it. very comfy and as we all know, rapid!
people seem to notice it more now, but then maybe thats just 'cos they see it more (isle of wight - not big!). will get even more looks after scooby sport full system is fitted saturday !
am contemplating removal of wrx sticker on back, so then it is just the scoop and grilles that give her away - is this sacrilidge?

did not know that seepy - wagons first eh? well they hacve to be better then!
i always maintained the 1.6 pug 205 gti was better than the 1.9 as the engine was designed as a 1.6 initially, and only a longer bore stroke (different crank) made the 1.6 capacity up to 1.9. thus squarer engine which revved better as 1.6.
but thats not the point - sorry drifting...!
the point is that wagons rule!!

Oi! Barge! you gonna get a kicking mate! lol
The wagon owning Shark is here.
WAGONS RULE! as the young un's can be heard saying in thier 'hood'
I'm 28 and have had a wagon for nearly 3 years now. love it to bits, modded it a lot too.
My reason for getting a wagon was a practicle one, at the time I had a partner, 2 kids and a lovely, and very fast growning Weimaraner, and thus needed a Wagon.
I like the Q car status of the Wagon, though mine, as anyone who has seen or heard it can testify, is not exactly Q car, however, it does worry some people as to what exactly has blasted past them. This probably has something to do with the fact that it's always filthy (well it is called the blackbeast for a reason! lol )
Would I choose another Wagon? Hmm, well, given current situation, nope, would prob go for a saloon. But, in a dream world, I'd get a Wagon, just not a scooby one, RS6 Avant anyone?

I'm shocked that you has said about the car & no pictures are posted

The best wagon I've seen was a white, STI kitted, 17" alloys, lowered with tinted windows. It was for sale at local garage - it was cool. I prefer a modded wagon to the saloon.
Nowt wrong with wagons.

It confuses the kids!
They hear the scoobysport exhaust coming.
They turn round and see an impreza coming.
An estate goes past.
You can almost hear them saying-
"was that an impreza?"
NAH , COULD'NT BE!
And its great on the twisties when you get some to##er in
a bmw up your back bumper-
and you leave them standing.
Long live the impreza.
Greg.

I've got a Wagon and I do like it a lot, but I'm still not 100% sure that one day I'll sell it and get a P1 or another scoob with 2 doors. I bought the wagon because I fit shower cubicles for a living and didn't want a slow sh1te van. The saloon wouldn't have of been practical.

mista weava, just to answer your (much) earlier question about the Anti-Lift Kit.
I had this done at the same time i had the bumpsteer mod, and all the other suspension mods i mentioned, at PowerStation last year, so i couldn't accurately tell you what the individual effect of the ALK was.
But save to say, the combined effect has been phenomenal. Especially sine i changed the front tyres to Toyos to match the rear. Feels like a race car now - very direct, very responsive. Totally recommended.
