I'm told that you should be careful you don't end up racing the box when you change. The syncros aren't the best on the older cars...

I'd like to hear how you get on with this.

I had a prodrive one on my UK and it felt great new but as time went on you had to be more and more precise with it. I had it looked at, at a service and was slightly better but never really resolved it. So when I sold it I just didnt bother on my MY00 as the throw was reduced anyway.

hmmmmm.

interesting comments. i do need to get thru the 'box quicker, but don't want to bu66er the synchro's.

has anyone had a problem with the gearbox that can be directly attributed to the use of a quick shift?

and if so, what sort of miles had the vehicle done after fittment, did the problems begin?

I just think mine wasnt adjusted right thats all. The box was fine, just the throw, second to third was sometimes difficult. The car had done 3K miles when I had it fitted and had problems at about 6K miles. As I had decided to buy an import I never pushed to have it resolved, I am sure it would have been. Not heard of any other problems so mine was probably a one off.
