Seen stuff like this before - I think at last years CES they had treated bog standard normal smartphones with it - you could chuck them in buckets of water and they were totally waterproof... amazing stuff.
I believe you can send stuff to them & they'll treat the objects - can be pretty much anything you like.

I wonder if this stuff will work on scaffolders as they seem to think they are allergic to working in the rain like the rest of us?

It's like water off the duck's back, innit? Wimmins could do with this in their make-up, or have a spray of it after decorating their face up. Then even if they cry buckets while watching 'The Impossible', their make-up will stay intact. I really like it.
PS: Don't they put some of it in waterproof sun lotion? Well, something like this, if not exactly this.

Good but gripless stuff. Not good for everything. Imagine painting on it. You'll get frustrated to **** if you're trying to be a Pablo Picasso or a Vincent van Goch in your own right. Then you'll see your bum.

I have a pair of boots treated with a similar water repellant nano technology. The trade name is "ion mask". I've had them for just over a year, and wear them almost every day. I've never had to clean them, just a quick wipe once in a while.

Should be perfectly suitable for application on a car:
"The other breakthrough associated with Ultra-Ever Dry is the superior coating adherence and abrasion resistance allowing it to be used in all kinds of applications where durability is required. Ideal for use on metals, plastics, wood and fabric."
At 120 notes a gallon, it's only marginally more expensive than an equivalent amount of Hammerite, so the only real problems are the minimum order quantity (one gallon each of top and under-coat), and finding a UK supplier.
