Question

Hello All,

I posted this in the Technical section and no answers so was hoping this may get a better response here - thanks.

I have an MY99 and I have started getting some vibration through the steering wheel at about 60 - 70 mph...it feels like the tracking is slightly out but could it be something else? I have checked the tyres and they look fine, there is no judder under braking so I assume it's not them and there are no weights missing on the rims so I don't think the wheels are unbalanced??? hmmmmm

Next question, when driving sensibly i.e not accelerating hard and sticking between 2800 and 3000 rpm the car has the sensation that it is rocking faster then slower (only tiny amounts). Does anyone know what I mean or am I just imagining this?!?!?!?

I'd appreciate some advice as I've only had the car a couple of weeks and I'd like to get it sorted...especially the wheel vibration.

Thanks in advance

HH

IMHO

Tracking usually causes the car to veer(sp) to one side or the other - It does sound like a wheel balance problem to me

Tracking is which direction your wheels point, so if your car pulls to one side of the road, rather than driving staight the tracking is at fault.

Balancing your wheels stops them from wobbling, if they are out of balance then you will get vibration through the steering wheel or **** depending on which axle has out of balance wheels.
