So I was discussing this at lunchtime.
The Idea is to rate how good a driver you are, from a scale of 0-100; with 100 being Michael Schumacher
The average driver will be around 50%. Which would cover some dim-wit driving to w*rk or the supermarket. The rest is open to interpretation.
I'm expecting a few interesting results here Although not quite as close to the lowest scorers personal rating.

It depends how the rating system works, for example you could be a really good road driver as in you could spot dangers be really aware of things around you and be able to react in the best pssible way. But then you might be totally sh*t on a race track. So is 100% being really good at both and if so does that mean 50% is being aware of whats around you and the other 50% is how good you can control your car?

I think I saw a program on this the other day whereby everyone rated themselves as better than average i.e. over 50% which meant that there were no crap drivers on the roads
I'd rate myself average at say 50%, pride myself on being courteous to other drivers, not tailgating, no dangerous overtaking on bends etc.........................but we all have our moments

It is a scary thought, especially as My car was nearly destroyed by someone pulling out and nearly T-Bone'ing me I reacted quick enough to avoid the fool, but if 50% is the average. I certainly do not want to see somebody about 10-15%.

I saw a survey like this and they said 'two thirds of people rated themselves average or better'. Now for a start, 50% of people must be better than the other 50%. And if you give people three choices -- below average, average, above average -- it stands to reason that at least two thirds will be in the average and above average categories.
Personally, I'd rate myself at around 35%.

What the survey means is that the more than 50% drivers have an interest in how to drive, what they drive, and have opinions on others driving (and post on these type of boards), where as the other, lower, 50% don't care or have an interest in driving and this probably explains why half them don't know or realise that your not suppose to drive down the middle lane of an empty three lane motor way or that the overtaking lane is for just that OVERTAKING! use the right pedal man............Sorry just had a flash back from general driving anywhere during the day. Even my nan does 70 on the motorways and shes 85!

Anyway how can Schummy be 100 after the amount of written off F1 cars and damage he has been involved in the past few years. I bet my insurance premium is less than his , I mean can you imagine the conversation when he rings up for an insurance quote. I suppose the difference is he doesnt worry how much his insurance costs him though

Depends on how you define good driver. Some people think that if they stick to all the speed limits then that makes them a good driver. Others think that if they haven't had a accident then that makes them a good driver.
Anyway, I consider myself about average, so 50 out of a hundred then

What would I rate myself? I don't know, cause I'm still trying to interpret it myself
