Dealers and the new MY03
#1
Rang up friendly local dealer yesterday to ask when new My03 available for touch, look and drive. Was informed that April at earliest. I asked how come reports that some are expecting delivery in feb, was told must be parallels. Hung up rather confused.
Today received letter from not quite so local dealer offering test drive \launch day next Sat.
Is there some sort of dealer pecking order?

I believe that most of the dealership are getting delivery of their demonstrators during this week and early next...I know that quite a few of the dealers have already had theirs delivered...Osbornes...K T Green etc I know had deliveries today ...other than that...no idea, I guess it depends when dealers requested/ordered their demonstrators...
Did the dealer concerned mean delivery if "you" had ordered...i.e. demonstrator asap...delivery of your new one circa Feb/March/April???
Anyway...bring on next Friday...cos Rum'll have a new motor!!! he he he

Dealer just up the road from me has an STi8 and a WRX 03 which both arrived yesterday.
They said I could go and see and touch at the weekend but after being offered £16750 for my 15 month old UK300 with 8k miles, I don't think I'll bother.
And no they aren't getting a free ad.

I did a bit better than that for my UK300 but mine has PPP, but only a bit better with 17K

Steve,
They offered the same against both.
They actually said the price was really £16k but it was subsidised with £750 from the new car sale.
I think it's what is called creative accountancy, or is that feckin' with figures.
Tight gits!

I emailed one or two dealers and didn't really do any better. Its what you get for buying new cars, loose vat etc when its driven out of the showroom. Like it or lump it or try to sell private
Shop around before you sign ?

My Dealer said "touch/see within the next two weeks" when asked this morning. It'd be a surprise indeed if there wasn't a pecking order of dealers, IMHO, and probably driven by sales volumes

I think the way it works with new models or special editions is that each dealer is given an initial allowance of say 3 cars, then they look at sales previous and size of dealership, catchment area etc and adjust accordingly
My dealer ended up having 10 new Uk300's to sell, 4 RB5's (Most dealers had 2-3) and umpteen P1's (But so did most dealers with P1's)

Cheers for that. May well pop over to Tileys in Bristol next Sat to their launch.
I'm not really planning on changing the STi7, mechanically there are no real changes worth spending more money on, and cosmetically the lights may be better, but IMHO that scoop spoils it completely.
Still can't understand why they just didn't put the STi or Uk300 lights on as standard.
My moneys going on PPP, then maybe wait for the cossie

I have just been into S&S in Ayr. They have a new STI and a 5 door WRX in. Boy does the new STI look well smart, the salesman says it's for sale now.
Cheers
