I once did 55 and a bit in my MY01, but that was literally by coasting into the garage. I try not to run it too low, but around 54 litres it starts to get jumpy so I don't know where those missing 5 litres are hiding

I drove for 36 miles after the fuel light came on before filling up. There were still some full boost runs in that 36 miles and by the end the needle was well off the empty and back into the black I had a TDI Isuzu as a courtesy car and tried the same thinking the it would get even further! Er, no!! Got 15 miles then ran out of juice on the Bypass

Yeah Kenny tends to try and get every last drop of fuel out of the car before filling up again! I'm the one that gets worried about how long the light is on for!

Put 56.5 litres in a couple of weeks ago
Was coming back from Gatwick, knew it was low but had enough to get home...... that was before the tailback/car park on the M25.....
Didn't tell the wife (sitting next to me) but the light came on just before the traffic jam, and stayed on until home.....
I did have a spare 5litre can in the boot though..... so only a slight tightening of buttocks

Numptie is correct. The low warning light was on for some time, and I put in £5 of petrol (it was all the cash I had with me at the time) to get me home. The low warning light did indeed stay on afterwards
I have actually got over 57 litres into my car on more than one occasion, but think my record was 58.2 litres.

John(forgot me wallet)S* once told me he'd driven around with the fuel light on for a while 'til he got scared. He pulled into a petrol station, put in a fiver's worth and the light stayed on !
