On the way back from the Trafford Centre yesterday, I was at a staggered cross roads and saw a gap so I took it....... unfortunately, the rear end of my car decided that it wanted to go down the bypass 1st for a change......... There must have been oil on the road of something in Trafford Park, but that was a VERY scarry moment, but luckily I didn't hit anything !

Phewwwwwwww

Well I actually went to the Arndale and discovered whilst I was there that only Burger King and Virgin records was open !!

It did take me just over an hour to get a parkin spot though at the trafford centre, but the huge amount of fresh fluff and eye candy that was present was hugely worth it !

I did come away with WRC Extreme 2 and Tekken4 for my PS2 though

oil on the road
Ah, thats what I'll tell the missus then.

Mr F, You know that smug self satisfied, I told you so, smile you adopt with tedious regularity. Well prepare to don it again

Re: our "wet grip/dry grip" conversation. Exiting the roundabout onto the dual carrigeway today I concluded I may need some winter rubber

But so close to Christmas it'll have to be tranclucent elasticated pants, not the F1s or So2 variety.

[smug look] Ah, that will be the P Zero's, as in Zero grip. Just get some decent rubber, the misses said it was OK! [/smug look]

Hehe!

Had my first ever bit of '*** out action' in the RA today too!
Going a bit too quick into an uphill left hander on damp road and P-Zeros!
Lucky there was nothing TOO close coming the other way, and it was probably only a small one, but I still **** myself!
Just came off the gas, and let her straighten up again, then shot off up the road
I know, I know, its not big and clever, and its made me realise it doesnt take too much to upset the backend of these beasts, so Im taking it a bit easier on wet roads now!
Hope the P-Zeros are better when the roads start drying out a bit...

Question

Maybe you didn't have the adjustable diff control set correctly?

Hmmm, I had the diff at one LED up from bottom on the dash indicator.
Still a new owner really, so I take it thats not enough?
Any higher and I tend to get a rather 'burnt sausages' smell!!

And P-Zeros still no good on dry roads??

the misses said it was OK
Correctly reported Mr F but there is a difference in philosophy
i.e

Her:
I've seen it, I want it, pass the Credit Card

Me:
I need it, I've checked prices, I've checked the overdraft

Mark, I'm sure John will provide info.
I manage OK in the dry. There again I don't get wheelspin in 1st 2nd & 3rd when the first cloud appears

I had Zero's on my P1 wheels when I bought them. (I must admit they were not as good as the 16in SO3's fitted to the 22b Style wheels the car came with.
I have since fitted toyos and the grip has improved to the point of more 4 wheel slides than over steer. At a higher speed though.

I dont know if any of you have been playing with the centre diff more with the wet weather, but Ive actually started to prefer having it nearer the top of the gauge. Never thought I d say that!
