I've always used Tetrosyl Panel Wipe, as recommended to me by a friend who ran a bodyshop.

A quick Google search came up with this site scroll down and it's 10th on the list

Caan anyone give me any idea how to get silicone off my boot lid? I recently upgraded my STi iv spoiler to a WRC and the footprints dont quite match. This has left some silicone residue on the bootlid that wont come off despite my best efforts. Thought about freezing with ice (like chewing gum) or maybe heating with a hairdryer but not tried yet. Anyone any better ideas (without scratching paintwork!)?

TIA

Rich

GOOD D.I.Y stores, Screwfix, and good double glazing dealers or plumber's merchants will sell a product known as Silicone Eater. It'll fetch off the most difficult stuff without touching your paintwork. About £5.
