NOS will increase Optimax buy about 0.5-0.6 RON mate.

Never reach 104 ever, not if you stuck a case in there.



7points = 0.7 RON.

NF race will only give a 6 RON increase to NUL @ 5mls per Litre of fuel used.

NOS gives MUCH less, doesn't even raise it by 2 RON on NUL

Is it ok to put octane booster in optimax fuel? (since it already has booster in). If so what differences can be expected?
More importantly could it help to stop the red led blipping on my knocklink?

Gosh i haven't answered an octane booster question in weeks !!!

The answer is Yes. I use NOS in Optimax, theoretically making it 104 RON. It has never caused me any problems, and insofar as what you can expect - more of the same basically.

But there will be a dozen people after me telling you that Optimax actually causes detonation, that the RON degrades in the tank, that many OB's are only flame retardants and all sorts of other stories, so it's not as simple as you think.

But try some OB and see if it works for you, that's the best advice. HTH.

 

I have used Fuchs Pro Boost, which I am told takes a full tank of optimax to aorund 101 Ron. It seems to work, although with some ECU's it may take a couple of tanks before it learns. It is expansive to and I think can only be warranted on a long run out or a track day. I would suggest running a tank before a track day as well. See the TSL website for more detail

 

According the refinery in belper, pro boost gives up to 2 RON on NUL.

Again if it makes 100 with Optimax its very close, 99.8-100.1 i think you will find, depending on the optimax.

If its 98.0 then it will make about 99.5

I have got some for my xmas pressie
supposedly takes optimax to 99.6 RON

 

Hello, its just under 2 RON for SUL @ 1mls per litre, and does increase the MON, but i will have to get back to you on the amount.

Millers might take it to 99.6, but doubtful, NF one shot for the simular sort of price takes Optimax just under 101 RON.
