Question

Has anybody got any dyno comparisons between a bog std MY01/02 and the following mods I'm considering:

Centre de-cat & back box + ITG panel filter.

If so what make of zaust have you got and what are the results?

Thanks, but I looked there first - only 3 Bugeye posts and not what I was looking for.

Maybe other bugeye owners just aren't into performance -LOL

I think when I PPP's the car and then put in on a rolling road (ITG was fitted) it gave 246bhp.

Yeah none of the MY01/02 owners are interested in performance *ahem*!

Since you don't appear to have a PPP, the answers given so far are somewhat valueless

Answering the original question, a centre pipe, backbox and filter element will give negligible gain - probably 10bhp if you are lucky, which will be totally unnoticeable on the road apart from the extra noise.

On a MY01>, you have to change the downpipe too, and probably the up pipe, to get any worthwhile gains.

Dave - We at least gave him something to think about!

Hmmm PPP and warrenty or MoTec and full decat (including up-pipe) along with no warrenty.

I would have to think carefully....

My fugly was on Well Lane's rollers earlier in the year and got 225bhp. That was with a ITG filter and SS backbox running on Optimax.

Thanx for the posts so far. Looks like my budget of £500ish only gets 10bhp. May have to go on beer instead then

I've had the full de-cat treatment with ITG (bar up-pipe) , and Mr Croney himself said that his would unleash around 245bhp, 250 in up-pipe (don't know about torque figs tho).

Not had it on a RR (not that they really tell you much) but it makes hell of a difference - torque available from about 2900rpm so a lot more drivevable.

Just get yourself a secondhand scoobysport decat system for around £500 (d/p, centre and b/b - they crop up on here from time to time) and revel in a/ the noise and b/ the extra driveability.

Then get it ppp'd (if u like warranty) or ecutek'd and get 280bhp!
