Am taking delivery of new Turbo on the 1st and been thinking of getting the side skirts colour coded. The dealer used to do colour coding for mirrors / handles so is happy to do it for me. From what I remember there is also a 'lip' on the rear skirt that is also always black. Anywhere else I've missed?

Question is : Is it worth doing on a DBM model? Anyone out there have this done?

I'm also still deliberating about the side protection strips ( Accessory SACC1196 ) which the dealer can also colour code. Anyone out there have these colour coded / not on a DBM car and like to comment?

Thanks,

Dave.

Hi

I have a DBM - not colour coded & I also have the side strips. If you are going to have colour coding, you should have the whole lot done.

16" Prodrive Speedline Corse. Tyres in the pic are Bridgestone SO2's.

Cool

Dave,

I have a MY99 DBM with mirrors/sills and rear skirt colour coded.

MAKE SURE THEY DETEXTURE THE SILLS AND REAR SKIRTS WHEN PAINTING OTHERWISE IT WONT LOOK "SHINY"

I also have the side strips, but left in black just to break it up a bit...they look fine and protect your door skins a bit more!

Each to their own, it's a personal thing. I didn't bother because you can hardly tell on a Deep Blue car and at the end of the day they get a fair kicking one way or another. Like Sunil says, if you do go through with it make sure it is done properly as it will look even more crap if it flakes or chips. The skirt stuff has a rough finish to it.

I couldn't decide about the side strips, and now instead I am an aggressive parker. (Which doesn't mean I swear at Lady Penelope.)

I dont think so Higgy. They have a flatter appearance than the my00's.

Dave,

Not sure whether it makes as much difference on DBM but on Silver it's a must IMHO.

I am getting sides and rear done - that's everything as far as I am aware.

Interested to know what you were quoted - my quote was about £250(incl.)!!

Rich.
