Unhappy

Just tried to buy the one on sale at Lancaster Sevenoaks for GBP40k ( they were selling it on behalf of someone) - offered full asking price today and dealer just called to say it had been sold privately without their knowledge over the weekend - oh the pain!

Out of interest, why are you set on a 22B, when you could have a P1/Sti-6/Evo6 for less money? The mags seem to think it's not as good a road car as the lesser models, though I can't comment myself. I've only ever seen one in the flesh, and have to admit that it looked the business.

I saw it but I am assuming that it is not a UK one, and to be honest with this kind of investment I'm not risking an insurance backed warranty - I intend to use it pretty much as a daily transport car - 10k miles a year and since not many get miles put on them it is hard to gauge wether they might prove more unreliable than a standard UK or STI car. I also value the longer gearing on the type uk for the motorway cruising that cant be avoided on the pilgrimages to Scotland.
Nope, think it'll have to be a Prodrived UK model for now - got my eye on one, and will see what happens after P1's arrive - expect 22B's to come cheaper.
Thanks for the replies folks, but I'm not in the market for an import - I know i'm paying more, but I have had trouble with warranties on imported bikes in the past and I am happy to pay Subaru UK premiums for piece of mind.

I believe that Park Lane have a car for around £37k - for the extra three you could have Leda, an Sti clutch and a the longer ratio - perfick

Thats just it i'm afraid - they really do look great - I'll never be able to exploit any sti to it's full - i'm not a good enuff driver, but it does look fantastic - and i'm lucky enough to be able to afford it - and the Wife is crazy about it too!
Just think that if i'm gonna pay a premium over a UK std 4 door it has to be for something really special.

Had exactly this conversation with Pete Croney (whilst sat in a 22B

Listen, the point is simple. Exclusive. One-Off. Never-to-be-repeated.

Doesn't matter if it gets beaten by a P1/STi/EVO/Esprit it is part of subaru history.

when you turn up at a scooby meet there are loads of STi's, bound to be numerous P1's etc. Turn up with a 22B and heads turn.

Nuff Said.

Cool

Platinum import 22B

29,000 very slow miles
600 quicker miles

Clatter, clatter, clatter!

22Bs look great

A UK turbo on 95 Ron will be quicker than the average 22B driver, as they are expensive to bend back into shape!

But they look great........and are exclusive.

22Bs are at the bottom of their cycle at the moment, P1s have nudged them down to 35K-38K depending on mileage.

In the next year they will start o appreciate again.

Mine is on the market for £60,000, is Lee Ryan's wife on this board

Well, I was so impressed with the guys at Lancasters that I have bought a Prodrived
MY99 from them - hate to just sound like an ad for them but they were great, let me then the missus both take the car out for a drive, have agreed to do the first years service and undersealing before I take delivery and the car is very fine - very close to RB5 spec but wifey wouldn't accept the RB5 colour and this was cheaper. So anyone want to take it in PX for a 22b type uk? No, I better stop now, been maximising the amount of depreciation i've been hit with on my last few cars and to trade this after 2 days would take the biscuit.
Txs
Charles
PS any family type Scooby owners around Essex want to get together? - my 3 year old son particularly keen to make friends with kids whose dads are going to have a P1!

Chuckster,
Last time I checked Tiley in Bristol had a type UK 22B and Lancaster in Reading/Pangbourne had one. The Lancaster one may have been a duplicate ad for the Sevenoaks car.

I think Tiley were after £40K.

Cool

Chuckster,

I looked at "that" 22B when having my car serviced at Lancaster Sevenoaks at the end of January. They stated then that the car had been sold for c£37,500 but had not been picked up by anyone at the time of my visit, both me and the dealer principle found this a bit strange. Layout loads of money and then not rush down to pick it up

I agree that the service provided by the Sevenoaks people is vey good, nothing ever seems too much of a problem, and the b***sh*t factor is not really an issue as everything they have covered in my dealings with them has been accurate

I am in the P1 queue but this may change in the near future if IM and Subaru UK cannot get their facts right about whether the P1 is the ultimate UK Impreza. The ProDrive website is now talking about a P1 WR spec car which would suggest that they are going to run more than one version of the new car. This I would accept if the P1 was completely new and had a few options like the standard UK spec cars but not if they think people are going to part with £31,495 and find they do not own the "ultimate" (magazine talk, not mine) UK spec Impreza, STiV/VI are much cheaper now on the import front and will command to be looked at.

Sorry for the rant, but another Essex meet would be good - 80+ cars at the last one - I think something may be getting organised as ther was a committee meet last night, so keep a look out on the events section.

Regards

Yex
